I don't know enough to comment accurately on the procedure for resetting the computer by disconnecting the Batt for 20 minutes or if this will clear a CEL, but I'd sure like to know the pros and cons from some of you Toyota wizzards on how effective this procedure might be and how you fell about using it. I was happy that they found no problem, but still think it would be nice to be able to reset the computer myself and see if the faults reinitiate to avoid an unnecessary trip to the dealership for a non-problem (even though they do have great donuts and coffee). In 4L mode, you only have the option of TRAC off, which means that you have to hold the VSC Off switch for three seconds. To turn off both TRAC and VSC, stop the vehicle (not difficult, since you are probably already stuck at this point) and then hold the switch for three seconds total. So it looks to have been a momentary situation that cleared itself. Slip indicator light, Brake warning system light, VSC Off light, 4HI / 4 LO, ABS light all flashing or on. This morning I get in my truck fire it up and my check engine light, vsc and trac control lights are all on.
