This was a trend that would continue on subsequent covers throughout the 1970s and beyond. The cover was designed by Hipgnosis, and was significant in that it was the first one to not feature the band's name on the cover, or contain any photographs of the band anywhere. There was also a release of the quadraphonic version in the UK in fully discrete four-channel form on the "Quad-8" format, a four-channel variant of the stereo 8-track tape cartridge. The SQ quadraphonic mix was released on LP in a matrix format compatible with standard stereo record players. This was the first Pink Floyd album to be specially mixed for four-channel quadraphonic sound as well as conventional two-channel stereo. Ron Geesin, who had already influenced and collaborated with Roger Waters, made a notable contribution to the album and received a then-rare outside songwriting credit. A remastered CD was released in 1994 in the UK and the United States, and again in 2011. Remastered from the original analogue tapes by JAMES GUTHRIE, JOEL PLANTE and BERNIE GRUNDMAN. It was recorded at Abbey Road Studios in London, England, and was the band's first album to reach number 1 in the UK, while it reached number 55 in the US chart, eventually going gold there. The stereo remastered album on heavyweight 180 vinyl. It was released by Harvest and EMI Records 2 October 1970 in the UK, and by Harvest and Capitol on 10 October 1970 in the US. Song Name: Atom Heart Mother Suite Artist: Pink Floyd Album: Atom Heart Mother Run Time: 23:44 Year: 1970 Track Number: 1 Written By: David Gilmour, Richard Wright, Roger Waters, Nick Mason, Ron Geesin Info: According to Mason, the drum and bass parts for the entire suite were recorded in one take, thus the wavering tempo in the song. VINYL LP - Atom Heart Mother is the fifth studio album by English progressive rock band Pink Floyd. Its not a landslide by any means, and Id probably prefer a clean reissue over a rough first press, but it is a little better from my quick comparison.ATOM HEART MOTHER 2016 version. The vinyl is quiet too if you can find a clean copy. In the end the original wins out this time, mostly for having some extra harmonic detail to certain aspects. The UK already has a great balance to it and might not necessarily need any type of enhancements in that direction. The impact of drums are somewhat favored on the reissue, but its a small difference and one that might not even be superior. I thought the bass might be tighter on the original as well but I might be wrong there, its only a little for the most part if anything.

On Summer 68 however the vocals are the ones to have an extra rasp and reverb to them without being any more sibilant than the reissue, something the UK Meddle suffered from. The reissue seems to favor the vocals to be more present on Fat Old Sun while the original strikes a good balance, still being present, but un earthing more harmonics and presence to the guitar instead. Celebrate the fifth studio album of this iconic English rock band in our Pink Floyd Atom Heart Mother Vintage Tee. The UK most notably has the edge on subtle detail, at least when it comes to string instruments. To spoil things a little Ill just say that this has for me been the first clear cut winner out of the Pink Floyd reissues Ive compared with originals so far, which include WYWH, Animals and Meddle. Atom Heart Mother is a six-piece suite music, which was released in 1970 from the album with a similar title. I used Side B to make things easy, mainly Fat Old Sun as I found it to be quite revealing with the micro dynamics and such. With a decent 1G/1G UK first press I compared with my other 2016 Grundman reissue of the album. Where did Pink Floyds Atom Heart Mother get its name Pink Floyds symphonic fourth album remained untitled until the band was debuting some of the material on. The only real problem I have with it is the fat spine text that looks awful. Covering the first side of the original LP, the 23-minute instrumental title track is wonderfully grandiose, featuring some killer David Gilmour guitar solos and the band's first (and last) extensive use of orchestra and choir. Yet another great 2016 release for Pink Floyd. Atom Heart Mother Pink Floyd ROCK 1970 1970 found Pink Floyd at their wildly experimental peak.
